Our Garden - July 2015 |
The roses are still putting on a good show as we enter July and there is plenty of colour from other sources as well. |
The astrantia come up year after year even if they are fighting for space with the perennial fuchsia and grass. |
These pinks were new last year from Janet - they are performing much better this year so must have decided to stay. |
The lilies also pop up year after year adding some drama to the gravel bed. |
The pigs are happy enough in the shade but they might have to move again before too long. |
The hydrangeas are starting to flower and add a lovely bit of colour in this part of the garden. The white one isn't quite as advanced as these two yet. |
We have a couple of these bushes and both are doing really well this year. |
Not all the hostas have been eaten by the slugs and snails. |
Lots of these fluffy flowers around and about. |
There are also a couple of cistus bushes around but the big one seems to have already flowered and gone this year - possibly because the weather has been so hot and dry. |
There are a few hot colours around as well. |
The yarrow is another one that pops up every year. |
The nicotiana flowers are really pretty. They are in this "small" bed as well as the patio beds. |
The grasses don't want to be outdone. |
The acanthus are suffering a bit in the dry, hot weather but will have enjoyed the rain we've had today. |
They might be self-seeded but they're still one of my favourites. |
The clematis after the rain. |
These little daisy flowers self seed around and come up every year as well. |
Another of my favourites is lavender. |
Erigeron - a fancy name for purple daisies! |
You can see from the grass on the left how dry it's been. |
These are adding a bit of colour - another plant that pops up year on year. |
The courgettes are the best ever - we've already had quite a few and there are lots of come by the looks of things. |
The tomatoes are also performing well. |
I love sweet peas and these on the left are easy to grow as they are perennial. |
These three photos are of flowers in the front garden. No views because the drive is being re-done so doesn't look too pretty at the moment. |
That's it for this time. I'll add more photos next month. |
