Our Garden - October 2013 |
Early October and very mild for the time of year so out with my camera for this month's photos. |
There are lots and lots of berries around the garden so the birds should be happy this year. |
For some unknown reason, the Ceanothus has decided to flower again. Must be because of the mild weather? |
The Cosmos are lovely and far too good to take out just yet even though I'd like to plant some tulips where they are. |
This must have self seeded (or been brought in by the birds or squirrels) because I didn't plant it here. |
This Gladiolus is from an earlier year and was a lovely surprise when it popped up and flowered. |
The Heuchera have really delicate flowers. |
The Hydrangeas are fading so it will soon be time to cut the flowers off so Linda can do pretty and artistic things with them. I've already put a few in the greenhouse to provide a winter nest for the ladybirds. |
The Thistles are almost done - still lots of seeds for the birds to eat. |
The largest of our Acers has these lovely red keys in Autumn and then the leaves turn bright red but that hasn't happened this year yet. |
There are lots of grapes this year. We don't eat them but the birds love them. We know when they're ready because the vine is full of blackbirds and starlings! |
The Pampas is at its best at this time of year - all new and fluffy. |
There are a few California Poppies out again. |
The end of this tour around. It's only when I walk round with a camera that I realise just how much there is in the garden. |
