Our Garden - October 2015

Another month, another set of photos. These were taken before I started the big prune so a few days later it looked a bit tidier.

pigs

The pigs are still in the same place. One day I'll get around to moving them.

The hydrangeas are still in flower but starting to fade so it will soon be time to harvest them for Linda.

I love lavender and have it all around the garden - in beds and in pots.

leeks

A few good things in the garden for us to eat as well.

choisya

A bit of colour in this corner. This corner's been pruned quite a bit since I took the photo so it's slightly less messy now.

The acers are starting to change colour so I hope the big one will soon be a similar colour to the one on the left.

pampas

The pampas is doing its usual Autumn stuff - so lovely (not in Jonathon's opinion!)

sedum

The Sedum gradually gets a deeper red as the months go by.

Some of the roses are still flowering adding a bit more colour.

aster

This little aster is the only one that pops up year after year.

heuchera

A couple of the heuchera are flowering. Such dramatic leaves and such delicate flowers - a real contrast.

Quite a bit of the bedding is still going strong, especially in the patio beds.

cotinus

Dew drops on the Cotinus make for a nice photo.

spiraea

The Spiraeas are starting to change colour as it's starting to feel like Autumn.

fir

Some plants simply don't change colour - they provide lovely colour all year round.

acanthus

This is what acanthus looks like when it's going to seed.

white flowers

I love the way the light catches some of the plants. The Eucalyptus on the left is lovely with the light shining through.

grapes

Although you might think these grapes look good enough to eat, they have a large pip in them. They are sweet but the birds tend to get to them before we do!

tree

Since I cut the large Red Robin tree back a bit this lovely fellow has had room to flourish (and is taking full advantage of it).

That's it for this time.

I'll add more photos next month.
