Our Garden - September 2016 |
I took this month's photos in two separate "tours" of the garden. The first for the close ups - bright and sunny - and the second towards the end of the afternoon when the shadows weren't quite as strong. This one on the left was from the first tour around - such a lovely day and it really highlighted the colours. Finally, we've had some rain (the day before the photos were taken and not much but at least some!) |
We're now into evening territory for the "views" and you can see that the light was really different. These pretty little blue flowers are in the bed on the right and were catching the light beautifully this morning. |
Getting to be past their best. |
Lovely Autumn crocus - they always catch me by surprise as they seem to appear so quickly. |
I'm trying to propagate some of these so cuttings have been taken |
The "parent" plants and cuttings are in my shed and seem to be doing quite well. Fingers crossed. |
Lady's Mantle looks lovely after a shower - the water just bobbles on the top of the leaves. |
The roses are still doing quite well |
This one is particularly lovely |
The acer leaves are starting to change colour - Autumn must be on the way. |
Plenty of fuchsia around the garden. |
The big fir tree in the photo on the left has lots of "mini cones" on it at the moment. |
The kerria seems to be flowering again! |
The sedum is at its best at the moment. We have a couple of different types. |
This lovely yellow begonia is doing really well in its pot. Seems quite happy there. |
This grass looked lovely with the light shining through. |
The achillea is starting to change from yellow to brown. |
Plenty of pink! |
Do snowberries mean that snow is on the way? |
The hydrangeas are still providing a lot of colour around the garden. |
The erigeron are clinging on but about done. Contrary to that, you can just about see the newly planted wallflower plants that are growing quite well in the beds on the right. |
These pretty little visitors pop up every year. |
The pigs are quite full of bird seed from the feeders above. They are apparently a good stepping stone for squirrels as well! |
There are plenty of berries ripening up for the birds and also plenty of food for the humans who live here! |
Finally, one of the benefits of taking photos in the evening is that you get the chance to see the sun going down. That's it for this month. |
