London Open Garden Squares 2013
We took ourselves into London to wander round a few of the Open Garden Squares early June 2013. It was a chilly day but we had a really good time. First stop was Westminster Abbey. We went through Dean's Yard and visited St. Catherine's Garden (right) and College Garden (below). |

The Crucifixion |
We had coffee / tea and cake in the College Gardens - I can think of a lot worse places to be. |
From there we headed West towards Knightbridge. Our original plan was to go on a bus but there was a demonstration in Parliament Square so no buses so we used the tube after all. Our next stop was Cadogan Place Gardens - one of my favourite gardens in London. |
The Mulberry Trees on the right are thought to be c.300 years old. |
A short walk and we were in MaRoCoco Chocolate Factory Garden. This was a tiny garden and a really tiny chocolate factory (J said the chocolate was delicious). |
Just around the corner (or two) we went to Wilton Crescent Garden. There were some lovely old plane trees and some lovely tree sculptures. |
What a perfect flower! |
Belgrave Square was our next stop |
Our final stop was in Eaton Square. We ran out of time but I think our legs were glad because they'd run out of energy! |
There were some lovely sculptures in this garden - a lot of them based on spheres of one kind or another. This one (and top left) was one of our favourites. |
We got a quick bite to eat at Prezzo, Victoria Station then wended our weary way home! |
