Mum's
80th Birthday |
Mum was 80 at the end of October 2017 so we celebrated with a weekend of parties.
We started at Ripley Castle where we had an area cordoned off for our party so we could all mingle. Mum and Dad had no idea that we'd arranged a party for them - they thought they were going out with Carole and that Pauline and Paul would join them. Gareth, Jonathon and I were supposedly busy doing other things! It was a bit of a surprise when they walked in and a few other people were there as well (and then more kept coming!). |

The scheming team! |
In all, there were 30 of us ranging from a Great Grandma (aka Aunty June) to Phoebe who was 14 months old so a good spread of ages and generations. |
Lots of delicious food to enjoy. |
The cake was meant to feed 30 - it would easily have fed 90! Very rich - delicious. |
It all got too much for some of the family members (there were others of us who wished we could curl up for forty winks as well!) That was it for Saturday's festivities so time for us all to go home ready for some of us to start all over again the following day which was Mum's actual 80th birthday. |
Sunday found the close family members at The Tiger making big decisions as to what to have for dinner. |
This amazing creation was made by Carole and Georgie. It tasted as good as it looked! |
That was the end of the weekend celebrations as we had to go our separate ways. Definitely a weekend to remember! |
