London Wetland Centre

For my 50th birthday Jonathon bought me a day with Iain Green, one of our favourite wildlife photographers. Iain's a big fan of London Wetland Centre in Barnes, South West London (and so am I now I've spent a day there with him).

We had a great day with lots of wildlife to photograph as you'll see below.

It's a lovely green space with plenty of room to stroll around.

This cheeky chappy was very kind a did a few different poses for us

2 of the lawnmowers are in the photo on the left.

There were lots of insects around, some prettier than others and, of course, loads and loads of water fowl.

These Coots were apparently fighting for territory - they did seem pretty aggressive.

The Dragon Flies were not at all easy to photograph - they either hid, were camoflaged or were simply too fast.

London Wetland Centre covers 42 hectares, a short train journey away from Waterloo Station in London. It's hard to believe that this area used to house 4 old, concrete reservoirs - so much prettier now!
