We went down to Masek Lake to see the hippopotamus but they were very unsociable - just popping their noses out for a quick breath then back under. This one did show it's head for a yawn but the photo below is more typical of what we saw. |

I've combined hippo and buffalo on the same page as they are both very unpredicatable and quite dangerous animals in the areas we stayed. |

Driving around in the rain on Day 6 and we came across this load of hippos. There were quite a few of them and they were slightly more active than those we saw earlier in the week. |

It was lovely to see so many young animals around - we even spotted a buffalo calf ... |
