Tanzania 2012 - Cats (non-Lion)

We saw so many Lion that I've put them on a separate page - please click here for those photos.

Cheetah

This was Jonathon's first ever sighting of Cheetah in the wild - Mum and cubs (they're the furry bits on the right hand side!)

These two (we think) are brothers. One of them slipped when the bank gave way and hurt his front left paw. Not sure how serious it was but the other one came across to see how he was and then went to look at where the bank had eroded to try and work out what had gone wrong.

Leopard

This was Jonathon's first sighting of a Leopard in the wild. It was very dusky and goodness knows how Kevin spotted it but Jonathon did clever things with his camera to get this photo.

We saw this lovely male Leopard early one morning just as we were setting out. It was lovely to get so close to such a beautiful animal.

Not content with that, we also saw Mum and adolescent cub with a kill later the same day.

Serval Cat

Jonathon spotted this Serval Cat but these were the only photos we got before it his away in the long grass. They are sometimes called Miniature Leopards - you can see why!
